GTOA Awards & Hall of Fame

Larry Caroon Award
The Larry Caroon Award is the most distinguished award presented by the GTOA. Larry made a tremendous impact on the GTOA as a football official for twelve years. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 46. The GTOA proudly honors his memory every year by presenting this prestigious award.

Football Newcomer Award
This award is presented to an official within the first three (3) years of their football officiating career with the GTOA. The development crew monitors all of the rookie officials' progress throughout these first years and determines who among them shows outstanding effort and ability.

If you would like to nominate an official for the Hall of Fame, there are are two applications. The OSSAA State Hall of Fame application provides for a nomination to only the State Hall of Fame and the GTOA Hall of Fame application provides for a nomination to just the GTOA Hall of Fame. Please be aware that these two nominations are separate, one does not nominate an official for the other. If you would like to nominate an official for both Hall of Fame awards, you must complete both forms, or you may complete the form for respective Hall of Fame nomination that you prefer.
